These short stories will bring back memories to many and just might jump start the younger generation to thinking about the way of life and hardships in the mid-1900s. Help them realize how lucky there are to live in today’s time of technology, fast cars and electronic toys. There was never a dull moment always chores and work to be done , travel by foot and entertainment was games of Annie over, hopscotch, jack rocks with gravels, rubber ball and a pole of sort to play ball with, and our imagination. Tales of nothing we couldn’t get into, exploring the woods and of whoopings we got from dear old mommy and daddy for misbehaving.
Over the years Hazel W. Pollard has been a stay at home wife, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She resides in the beautiful mountains of southwest Virginia where she and her late husband James made their home for over 55 years. In her lifetime she has enjoyed writing, quilting, caring for loved ones, going to church and trusting in the Lord. Her new hobbies of today after 82 years of life include learning to use a cell phone, texting and the computer.
