In the 22nd century, the world is at peace. The World Government buys the lands of the Al-Bakhtari tribe to use a s a nuclear repository. It is learned the tribe carries a genetic disease that causes death at an early age. A world-famous geneticist uses DNA manipulation to cure the disease and discovers that the tribe possesses a gene for telepathy. The book ends when a poorly packaged nuclear device is dropped at the repository, causing a critical mass that sets off an immense blast destroying the earth. A small group of survivors on earth and at lunar stations joins together to build spaceships large enough to reach an exoplanet four and one half light years distant.
Morton G. “Moe” Skoll was born in Chicago, Illinois. He served twenty years in the United States military services. Retiring in 1968, he entered SPJC, where he graduated with an Associates of Arts degree in 1969. He then entered USF, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1970.
He began teaching in the Hillsborough city School System. He remained there until suffering a stroke in 1987. From then until suffering a grand mal seizure in 2012, he assisted his wife in raising exotic birds and plants. While hospitalized at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Tampa, he went through a heart stoppage and pulmonary cessation. He recovered with a passion to write and is working on a sequel to this offering. He presently resides in Lutz, Florida, with his wife, Kimberly, and their four dogs, a semi-feral cat, and an African Grey Parrot named Penny.
