This year I have used the names of family and friends. I hope this adds a rich, personal texture to the story. John and Ruby are my parents. In real life my dad was a carpenter, and my mother was a very good homemaker. I am one of the six kids that were referred to in the story. The idea for the story started about five years ago. I saw a child struggling just to move on the sidewalk with her crutches. It seemed impossible to get her image out of my mind. I started writing down a few thoughts, and slowly the story started to come to life. I hope you enjoyed the story, and are thankful for the many gifts you have been given. Yes, among them are the gifts of mobility and good health.

Larry and his wife Paula live in Leavenworth, WA. It’s a small village of about 2,000 residents located in Eastern Washington at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Leavenworth is a German themed town that looks a lot like Bavaria, a state in southern Germany. The architecture, signage, flowers, summer sun and winter snow will add to your wonderful memories of this quaint village. You’ll see our many recreational opportunities, festivals and dates, and special events throughout the year. Then start making plans for your visit.
