This book is a collection of columns, musings, and phrases on yellow sticky notes that for some reason seemed important enough at that particular moment in my life to keep. Some will make you laugh, some will make you cry, some will make you think, and some will rip your heart out. Each chapter is its own story to reflect upon, laugh out loud about, cry over, or just share with a friend. I don’t know if that’s good enough for this cynical world. “It’s raw, funny, smart and tragically painful,” said MSgt George Page, USMC Retired. All of my body parts are crossed that you will feel the same when you are finished reading.
Sue Veryser was born and raised in Chesterfield Township, Michigan. She has two brothers and two sisters, but lost her oldest brother in 2009 to a massive heart attack. Sue has been writing since she was nine, with her grandmother as her muse. Her grandmother would cut pictures out of gossip rags, tape them inside an old wallpaper book, then tape a piece of paper on the opposite side and say, “Look at that, now write me a story.” She has owned various newspapers and magazines since 1991, with the dream of someday writing books. She’s marrying her childhood crush in 2014 and will continue writing the That Damn Book series. She says, “Everyone has a story to tell, and everyone’s story needs and deserves to be told. That’s my goal!”
