Jesus revealed God’s heart toward sinners when He told the story of the father who, from a great distance, saw his prodigal son coming home and ran to embrace and kiss him. But what if the son had not decided to return? Is it conceivable that this same father would insist that his son suffer without relief for all eternity?

The discrepancy between the traditional view of hell and the heart of God displayed in Jesus Christ led Robert Taylor to investigate the key biblical passages that address the destiny of the unsaved. Scripture, research, and pivotal insights, drawn from the consistent application of the literal method of interpretation, fill the pages of Rescue from Death.

In this fresh look at the Bible, Robert pays special attention to Matthew’s Gospel, where most of Jesus’ teachings on hell can be found, as well as the Book of Revelation, exploring the truth about Antichrist, Satan, and the new heaven and earth. Jesus’ sacrifice at Calvary is also closely observed. The good news is that Jesus came to rescue humanity from death, the penalty for sin established in Eden, declared throughout the Old Testament, warned of by John the Baptist, taught by Jesus, and affirmed by the apostles. By shining a spotlight on God’s true justice, Rescue from Death magnifies both the righteousness and the goodness of God.

Carefully observing what the Bible actually says, Rescue from Death tackles the tough issues head-on. Small group discussion questions are provided for each chapter to stimulate critical thinking and help facilitate much needed conversation within the body of Christ. Dig into God’s Word and discover a Savior who loves everyone, died for the world, and rescues from death all who believe in Him.

Robert Taylor studied at the Multnomah School of the Bible (now Multnomah University) from 1971-1974. He received his BA from the Lutheran Bible Institute (now Trinity Lutheran College), his MA from Northwest Baptist Seminary (now Corban University), and his DMin from Columbia Evangelical Seminary. Teaching Daniel, Romans, and Revelation for Cascade Bible College, Bellevue, Washington, was also invaluable preparation for writing this book. Robert especially loves spending time with his family and seeing the amazing things his grandchildren do.

Ray Robinson

When Ray first entered the publishing industry, authors relied on “vanity presses” to produce their work – many of whom would charge $15,000 or more and leave the author’s garage filled with hundreds of books. Ray, along with coworker Alan Harris, joined forces with Miles Nelson to create Dog Ear Publishing to provide the author community a self-publisher with a heart. The group’s application of new technologies and publishing on demand reduced the cost of publishing a book to a fraction of what it had been for previous generations; authors now have the ability to publish a book in as little as six weeks and print as few as a single copy.
