At the green age of nineteen, Lara Miller entered her first pageant, certain she’d win a crown. While the third runner-up spot was disappointing, the pageant bug had left its mark, and an addiction was born. What followed was a wild ride across Kansas as she competed in fourteen pageants over the course of four years.
In My Pageant Addiction, Lara writes about her amusing and varied experiences in these pageants and the fourteen mistakes she made in her obsessive pursuit of a crown. At the end of each chapter she shares the gems of wisdom gleaned from that particular pageant.
Finally, Lara summarizes her tips for putting your best foot forward in the pageant world.
My Pageant Addiction is a helpful resource for women pursuing their own crowns. Lara cuts through the fluff and offers concrete suggestions for not only succeeding in pageants, but in real life, too.

Lara Miller Ketter is drawn to the funny side of life and loves to write about it. For ten years, she wrote a weekly humor column for the Downs News & Times, her hometown newspaper.
She designed a web site, BarbedandWired.com, where she blogged about funny farm anecdotes while she was a stay-athome mom to toddlers. And for six years, she has penned a lighthearted column for the quarterly Tipton Times newspaper.
Lara grew up in the newspaper business and worked at her parents’ four weekly newspapers for years, both before and after college. She graduated from Kansas State University, earning a degree in communications with a minor in, of all things, music theater. Lara and her father created and published six bimonthly issues of Great Plains Magazine. She has also written the book, Not This Lifetime, I’ve Got a Headache! Lara and her husband, John, live on a farm west of Tipton, Kansas, with their three children, Jenna, Alex, and Max.
