Adele Catherine White’s debut collection of poetry, Life’s Journey is an honest, body of work that celebrates nature, mortality, and Christianity. The collection is an interesting compilation of short, tangible messages, stunning photography, and relevant biblical scriptures.
White’s poems posses a transcendent quality, offering readers an unexpected sense of joy and peace despite these times of emerging global unrest: natural disasters, economic woes, and military conflicts.
In her book, White encourages readers to “Be thankful in all things. Each day we awaken with a new adventure waiting for us. We can enjoy those exciting snippets of time that are moments of celestial peace.”
Adele Catherine White was born in Petoskey, Michigan, in 1953. During her teenage years, White moved with her family to Pomona, California, where she spent countless summer days exploring the local public library and enjoying the soul-stirring rock and roll music of the early 1970s. In 1976, she earned a B.S. in Microbiology from California State Polytechnic University.
Later in 1978, White moved to the Indian Wells Valley. She and her husband settled in the small, desert community and started a family. Her passion for writing poetry was realized after becoming a mother. For nearly 20 years, she wrote contemporary poems about nature, mortality, and Christianity. Today, she uses poetry as a venue to express her thoughts, emotions, desires, and frustrations. She regularly shares her poetry during readings and artist forums in Southern California.
